The Isles of Scilly AONB Unit are again this year running a beach clean as part of the Marine Conservation Society’s (MCS) Big Beachwatch Weekend.
This national event aims to collect data which will highlight the effect of marine borne litter along our nation’s coastline. Locally, the event will help conserve Scilly’s natural beauty and also the amazing wildlife found beneath the waves.
The AONB Unit are looking for volunteers to help with this event on Saturday 15th September from 3.00pm at Porth Hellick, St Mary’s. Everyone can help make a difference to their local environment.
To reward all voluntary efforts the AONB Partnership is providing free hot drinks and cakes!
If you are under 17 and wish to take part, you either need to come with an adult, or you need your parent/guardian to fill in a consent form. These are available from the AONB Unit (01720 424315 firstname.lastname@example.org) on request.
