Isles of Scilly - AONB

Discover Scilly’s Dark Night Skies

Organised in partnership with the Council of the Isles of Scilly Children’s Services team and the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty Unit, Space Odyssey Planetarium will excite children, young people and adults alike!

Discover the wonders of the solar system, the special qualities of Scilly’s dark night skies and learn more about the Dark Sky Discovery programme within the confines of a mobile planetarium!

Dome sessions will be held on the 30th and 31st October.

Also, on October the 29th Simon Ould (Astronomer and owner of Space Odyssey) will be presenting information on the Dark Sky Discovery Programme and the proposed Dark Sky Discovery Sites for Scilly as well as the wonders of Scilly’s Dark Night Skies.

On the 29th or 31st October, there will hopefully be an opportunity, if the weather permits, to head out onto the Garrison Playing Field (nominated Dark Sky Discovery Site) to observe the stars.
