Isles of Scilly - AONB

Could you lend a hand to clear up after the recent storms?

The Isles of Scilly AONB Partnership is providing black sacks to anyone in Scilly who wishes to collect litter, which has washed up on beaches, as a result of the recent bad weather. The Council of the Isles of Scilly will gladly take the bagged rubbish if it is left by any of the green council waste bins on St Mary’s. The Council will collect the rubbish collected as part of their usual rounds.

If you live on the Off-Islands please take the litter collected to your waste site and it will be dealt with in the usual way.

Rubbish that is left at the end of beaches, or that is not bagged, can often blow away, which is why we ask that collected rubbish is bagged and left by the green bins.

Please contact Rebecca Steggles (AONB Assistant) on 01720 424315 or email rsteggles@scilly.gov.uk if you would like bags to help with the clean up.

The AONB Partnership is happy to help with this all year round, so please don’t hesitate to contact AONB Staff at anytime, should you require support to clear up litter which has washed onto beaches.
